Day 2 Fluorescence Microscopy

This is a shot of yeast cells after a ten minute incubation period and dyed so that cells can be seen with a higher resolution than a standard light microscope. The cool thing is that using this same technique, cells can be seen replicating and dividing. Technology’s quite amazing these days. So how exactly is this tied with photography? I believe that photography is a way to show people things they have never seen before or to turn the ordinary in to the extraordinary. And in this case, it’s microscopic fungus.
